Spirits of my Blood
Em C
Winter’s end, but not quite spring yet.
Last years leaves whisper to me, old and wrinkled
The darkness retreats, but not quite light yet
Last months moon shows herself to me, embracing the crescent maiden.

We’re still here, we’re not gone, take our hand and walk the land.

Old buildings, old books, the names of the land.
In them I see the hands and the thoughts of my ancestors.
And as I wander past the ancient hill graves,
and look into the face of my father, aging into the face of his father, then I know…

They’re still here, they’re not gone, I take their hand and walk the land.

I have seen, faces in the trees, patterns in the clouds, answers in the cards.
I have heard, voices in the wind, advice in bird songs, wisdom in your voice.
I have walked with, spirits of my grove, spirits of my mud, spirits of my blood.
Faces of my fathers, spirits of my blood (4x)

I walk through the fields and stare at the sky
I walk through the woods and whisper my goodbyes
I walk through the night and gaze at the stars
I walk through my mind and see what we are.
And I know…

They’re still here, they’re not gone, I take their hand and walk the land.
