Samhuin will tell

(click to listen)

Samhuin, the time of death and decay. The warmth of summer has retreated and the cold of winter is about to arrive. We call her the Cailleach, the old hag. She will sweep away that what must be cleansed, to make room for the next cycle. The song is about death, or more accurately, about what lies beyond the veil. The veil that is thinner during Samhuin.

Samhuin will tell
(Nico, Samhuin 2006)

E E C D
Will there be heroes on the other side
in shining armor, riding the sunshine
will there be honor, friendship and love
C D E
When I go there, When I go there I will know

E E C D
Will there be beauty, on the other side
colours and music, pleasure and joy
Will there be laughter, on the other side
C D E
When I go there, When I go there I will know

C G D
Samhuin will tell the story of our death
Samhuin will be the time to find out
when the veils lift for a while and let some light shine true
Samhuin will tell, Samhuin will tell,
Samhuin will tell, Samhuin will tell
(C G D (2x))

E E C D
Will there be forests on the other side
will there be trees and mother earth
will there be sky, filled with clouds and birds
C D E
When I go there, When I go there I will know

E E C D
When I leave you to go to the other side
Will you still know me, or will our love then die
Will you still be with me, or will we be apart
C D E
When I go there, When I go there I will know
